PML-N will fight conspiracies against general elections: Nawaz

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said his party would fight every conspiracy of delaying general elections.
Sharif expressed these views while speaking about the announcement of former Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader from Multan, Asim Bher, joining the PML-N.
He said the solution to all crises was in free and fair general elections. He said any effort against general elections would be a self-deceiving act.
The PML-N leader stated that his party had won the case of appointment of the chief election commissioner by staying in assemblies, adding that if they had walked out from the assemblies, President Asif Ali Zardari could have brought an election commissioner of his choice.
He stated that his party would ensure setting up independent and impartial caretaker government, like they had ensured the appointment of an impartial chief election commissioner.
Sharif said the Zardari government had brought the country to its knees and the biggest incompetence of the government was the devastation of the economy of the country.
"Extreme load shedding, inflation, unemployment and poverty have made people's lives miserable," he stated.
He said strong economy guarantees a strong country with full sovereignty.
"If the policies of PML-N continued, we could be involved in the race of progressing countries," Sharif said.
He said the manifesto committee of the PML-N had formed precise policies for energy, trade and education sectors so that the country would progress.
The PML-N chief said the major problems for the youth of Pakistan were lack of quality education and employment opportunities.
End.
